Rome is one of the most interesting capital cities in the world for travelers. The Eternal City is full of landmarks, stunning architecture, ruins, great artworks, and cheap hotels. Yes, cheap hotels. Even though Rome is a very popular tourist destination, there are still affordable hotels available. There are standard cheap hotels in Rome, town house suites, bed and breakfasts, guest houses, serviced apartments, self catering apartments, and more. For the ultimate in affordable, look for hostels where sharing rooms and bathrooms are common. These are suited for single travelers, not families.

When most people come to the city they look for cheap hotels in Rome near the sights they want to see the most. There are a number of attractions which are “must-sees” for every tourist but the Colosseum is tops on many tourists lists as does Vatican City, the tiny country within Italy which features some of the Italy’s major attractions including St Peter’s Basilica and the Papal Palace.
